Galipo Food Company started as a small, ambitious operation with only four fridges and freezers in a garage supplying over 3,000 food businesses in Australia. Galipo received multiple state and national awards for excellence in food distribution and transport. While the company had a distinct competitive advantage in the food-service industry, the company knew a cool-down was on the horizon if they failed to stay ahead of the competition. Galipo Foods pioneered the logistics industry by deploying Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) in a temperature-controlled food service environment. As a first mover, this use of AMR technology was a new frontier never attempted before. In collaboration with Körber and Geek+, Galipo Food Company got to work creating steps to make this AMR solution possible. With planning, brainstorming around the systems and solutions architecture, implementation, and testing, Galipo Foods was finally able to deploy the 12 Geek+ AMRs in the Dry Creek, SA refrigerated warehouse. Together, both partners rose to the challenge and made an idea a reality.
