Chemist Warehouse reached peak online pharmacy demand with the onset of COVID-19. Chemist Warehouse was struggling to respond to:

• 1.5 million weekly customer orders
• Almost 1 million prescriptions per week
• Online orders reached higher levels than previous Black Friday and Christmas peaks

Chemist Warehouse partnered with Körber to launch a Click and Deliver solution. This meant:

• Same-day delivery service
• Flexible and convenient delivery for customers
• Click and Deliver solution complements Chemist Warehouses’ previous Click and Collect offering

After four weeks of development, Chemist Warehouse had both Click and Deliver & Click and Collect working together, providing promising results:

• Click and Collect implemented across 450+ Australian stores
• 2-hour fulfillment from stores
• Increased order throughput capacity by 50 percent

Chemist Warehouse and Körber have worked together since 2017, when Chemist Warehouse deployed Körber’s dedicated retail software, Ignito, to power its Click and Collect processes. Since implementation of Ignito, the retailer has increased order fulfilment throughput rates up to 30% and has since used the software to fulfill 150,000+ online orders a month. To gain faster fulfillment times, Körber developed a solution where picking and packing is done instore, as opposed from a central distribution centre. Chemist Warehouse went to Körber after previous success, launching a new Click and Deliver solution to help the retailer keep up with rising eCommerce demand.
