CEVA Logistics Australia needed a fast and cost-effective solution for their newest eCommerce customer in shoe retail. The goal for the solution was to:
- Manage the new customers’ rapid growth in an efficient and productive way
- Improve the shoe retailers speed of delivery
- Improve previous picking rates and efficiencies from radio-frequency (RF) devices
Solutions implemented
CEVA Logistics Australia partnered with Körber to deploy Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) at the company’s warehouse.
This meant:
- Körber integrated the AMR solution into CEVA’s Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- 8 AMRs working across 400 sqm of warehouse space
- The project began in October 2019 and went live in January 2020

The Story
CEVA Logistics Australia is a regional division of CEVA Logistics. CEVA was created in August 2007 when TNT Logistics and EGL merged into one company. CEVA is one of the world’s leading supply chain management companies with over 78,000 employees working across ten regional clusters worldwide. In Australia, CEVA Logistics Australia is one of the top five logistics providers. When a high-profile shoe retailer became a customer, CEVA knew they needed to improve picking rates in order to keep up with the new increase in demand. CEVA Logistics Australia partnered with Körber to integrate 8 AMRs with CEVA’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) for picking. This project was a success, impressing both CEVA and their shoe retailer client. CEVA Logistics now plans to do similar solutions in their warehouses worldwide.
