Vice President for Industry Solutions & Design
Michiel Veenman is Vice President for Industry Solutions & Design at Körber Supply Chain Automation. His key task is to further develop Körber’s material handling equipment (MHE) solution design capabilities and its relevant teams around the world. This involves working on customer projects as well as developing and standardizing new solutions. Michiel joined Körber in March 2019, taking up his current role in 2020. Before joining the company, he spent 15 years working in the supply chain industry: first at a wholesale company, running various logistics process improvements, such as implementing SAP ERP and WM. Following this, he pursued a variety of other roles at a well-respected other company from this industry for 10 years, including project management, consulting, segment leadership, account management, and leading a global solution development team. Michiel studied Logistics Engineering in the Netherlands. He likes the complexity of the supply chain, and according to him “analyzing a flow of goods seems to be a good fit for the way [his] brain works”. Today’s supply chain complexity is increasing, and he sees technology such as advanced sensors and AI as the solution to design more flexible solutions to tackle uncertainty and speed-of-change. Michiel finds it important to create a network with great solution designers from around the world to share ideas, collaborate, and challenge each other to take great steps forward. This way, customers benefit from best-in-class knowledge from international experts to tackle their supply chain complexity. Working with customers, he finds partnerships and co-development essential to secure faster and better results. In his free time, he enjoys photography, archery, and cycling.
