Körber is a group of companies with approx. 10,000 employees and sales revenues of around EUR 2 billion, operating mainly in Europe, Asia and America. The focus is on mechanical engineering (battery manufacture, tobacco treatment, the pharmaceutical industry and tissue paper), digitalization with its own incubator and several spin-offs, and software consulting and systems integration in the supply chain.
A medium-sized group
Originating from a mechanical engineering company for the tobacco industry and owned by a foundation, the Körber Group has developed various business areas for itself over the years, but also left others behind. The business model is very long-term and, with a horizon of several years, is very unusual in this day and age.
The slogan #homeforentrepreneurs describes it very well; doers and entrepreneurs come together, and Körber actually consists of more than 100 companies. The vast majority of them are leaders in their segment, an important topic for Körber.
In Körber, diversity is part of the company. Diversity does not just mean that equal rights are a matter of course. For us, diversity also means uniting a large number of tasks and possible careers under one roof for us as colleagues. Diversity is the number of countries and divisions in which we operate.
Why now Körber?
A variety of opportunities for development, in hierarchy or geography, in content or technology, and in various disciplines. We won't send the controller to the customer as a mechanic tomorrow, of course, but the opportunities are already numerous in a large company. Nevertheless, we keep hierarchies flat, and thus the pathways are short. Through our organizational form, we save layers and thus create quick decisions in most cases. It is particularly important to all of us that we meet on an equal footing with our customers, employees and business partners. And that we can all celebrate together!
